sustainability
As a maker of jewelry, working with non-precious metals, multiple energy sources, and chemicals which have societal and climate impacts, it is necessary to consider sustainability within the PBR. I have and will continue to undertake the following efforts as much as is possible to reduce impacts from my artistic practice:
• The use of recycled metals, including repeated remelting once acquire
• The use of ethically sourced new metals and materials
• Recycling unwanted or unusable metals
• The use of recycled or second-hand materials
• The use of second-hand tools and equipment
• The refurbishment of tools and equipment prior to purchasing new items
• The use of non-toxic chemicals or non-toxic alternatives
• The safe disposal of any toxic chemicals or materials
• Conscientious use of energy sources (gas and electricity)
• Conscientious water consumption
